  My Bug & Insect Stories

I would like to state that I have only been stung once and that was in September of 2002. I avoid wasps, bees, and any other sort of bug or insect. They get near me, I run away. Flying bugs tend to flock towards me, which is probably about the only thing that is going to be on this page.

The Wasp
This lovely story took place when I was little. Yet again, I have no idea how old I was. Sometime when I was in grade school. I'd like to say around third or fourth grade. I was at a club house with some family, and it was of course out in the woods. There was a small lake/pond and a wooden raft that we all used to sit on and fish off of. My cousins, sister, and I were all on it. I had somewhat long hair at the time that went down past my shoulders. I thought I saw something in my hair, which freaked me out, so I asked my sister what it was. She said there wasn't anything, but I saw something moving. I started to get really worried and repeatedly asked what was in my hair. My sister was getting angry and kept saying nothing. I then decided to just brush my hand through my hair to get it out. I was right. There had been a wasp in my hair. It was now on the raft and everyone was just somewhat stunned. I was freaking out, they all told me to kill it, I just jumped off the dock and ran away, so they killed it. I am now extremely scared of any sort of insect or bug flying anywhere near me.

The Lady Bug
This was probably a few months after the wasp incident. I was in the backyard at my house, when suddenly I saw something fly at me. It didn't pass by, but instead went in my hair. I hurried and ran inside thinking it was a bee. After the wasp incident, I was even more worried. My mom got it out of my hair and it turned out to be just a lady bug. After all of that, I decided it was time to get my hair cut short. Stupid decision, but I didn't want any more bugs/insects in my hair. I realized that I look bad with short hair. Stupid evil flying bugs/insects. I hate all flying bugs and wish death upon them all. Of course with the exception of butterflies and dragonflies. Those are fun and don't usually fly into your hair and freak you out.

The VERY Friendly Bug
Well, on June 9, 2002 was my friend Melissa's graduation party. It was a blast! Well, I tend to be attacked by bugs quite often and they all like to flock to my. I was wearing shorts and sandals since it was somewhat hot outside, but I went home to change into pants and shoes cuz it was night, I was being bit by bugs, and I wanted to play volleyball with the group but needed the change of shoes. Well I was going to change my shirt while I was at it since it was a rather low-cut v-neck, but I figured the heck with it and didn't. Well, at about 12 am or so June 10, there were only a few of us left at the party, and Melissa's parents had gone to bed. It was only Melissa, Becky, Melissa, my cousin Bill, and me. We were out in the shed talking and I of course was the only one being attacked by bugs. I think it has to do with my shampoo and hair spray, and possibly perfume that was put on quite a bit earlier that day. They all fly towards my head so who knows. I had been protecting my head from flying bugs with popped bubble wrap, but then I was looking at pictures and wasn't prepared to be attacked. Well, this VERY friendly black bug that was maybe about half an inch to an inch in length decided it was time to fly down my shirt. I felt it and wasn't sure where it was cuz I couldn't quite feel it on me. I looked down my shirt cuz I hate bugs and wish death upon them, and it just so happens that this bug was in my bra. Yes, in my bra. Not on the outside of it or even on me. I told my friends, and they figured it would be nice to give me a napkin to kill it with. So my cousin turned the other way and pulled his shirt over his head while I attempted to rid myself of the bug. I tried to pull my bra out a bit and when I did the bug crawled out and onto the outside of my bra. Then I figured the hell with it cuz it wasn't against my body, so I tried to squish it between my shirt and my bra. I probably have a bruise on my ribs from trying to kill it, yet the damn thing wouldn't die! I just got fed up and grabbed it with my shirt, pulled my shirt away from myself and let go of the bug. I got rid of it and I think Becky killed it on the floor, but that may not have even been the same bug. From then on, I was paranoid and kept my shirt held tightly against myself and watched for bugs. My friends were scared of the bugs going down their shirts after that.
